Nutcracker Light
As they say, you get what you pay for, this presentation of the Nutcracker was a watered-down version of the ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Despite the superb and talented Ukraine ballet dancers, the production set was nothing more than two painted curtain backdrops flanked by large speakers pumping out Tchaikovsky's masterpiece. Missing from the set, a Christmas tree and a young Clara. This was not a production for kids, as my 6 year-old daughter started to loose interest by the second act. The Colden Auditorium seems to be more suited for a science lecture, and not a ballet. Very disappointed evening.
